“You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13).
‘You shall not murder’ is one among the Ten Commandments. Aborting an embryo is also a murder. After pregnancy, if one changes mind and resorts to abortion, with no faith in God, with no hope that one who gives will take care, it will be a great sin and it will bring a big curse to the family. ‘One who planted the tree will water it too.’ Similarly, one who gives the child will also take care of the needs to nurture it.
There was a good church in a town at Mumbai. Since sins and iniquities were in plenty in that locality, several murders were committed. They would indulge in gambling. Suddenly they will pick up a quarrel with one another and brandish a hidden knife and commit a murder. Every now and then, there will be factional feuds. Further, many murders were there because of the women involved in prostitution.
God gave the pastor the burden over this and hence the pastor and some youth took their bicycles, went to the church 10 o’clock in the night and prayed binding these spirits of murder in a single-minded manner. In the beginning, ten persons prayed and the number slowly increased further and further and after some time many people assembled there. These prayer warriors prayed, mildly sang and spoke in tongues condemning the evil spirits. This made the spirits of murder to flee from that place and the satanic deeds decreased. The church grew very fast. When the spirit of the wicked is bound, the members of the holy church will rejoice.
So, pray opposing and condemning the entrance of the hade. God has given you the power of “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven” (Matthew16:19). The most terrible among the sins is the one of murdering a person. He is not given an opportunity to live or to repent. This makes him descend to the hade with pain.
Cain was the first murderer in the world. He rose up against Abel his brother and killed him (Genesis 4:8). One who hates his brother is also a murderer. Dear children of God, never give room for the thoughts of suicide. “Why should you die before your time?” (Ecclesiastes 7:17).
Only who does not believe that ‘God is powerful to relieve me from all troubles’ alone will resort to suicide. If you fully rely on God with the belief that “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me” you will escape to such thoughts.
To meditate: “But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie” (Revelation 22:15).
