“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
We all wish to have the fullness; wish to have the blessing. The Scripture clearly says: “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
Today, many families suffer from scarcity. The income is not sufficient and they suffer from debt problems. They are unable to spend on children’s education and are unable to meet the expenses for their marriages. The unemployment problem is also there. The people struggle like a ship caught in a turbulent sea amidst a terrible storm.
The main reason for many people suffering from debt problem is their lavish spending, disproportionate to their income. They are mentally prepared to take loan for their expenditure. They do not prefer to undergo fasting prayer or asking God. They always resort to shortcuts For repaying a loan they avail another loan and consequently they become big debtors. Some people spend lavishly to project their status with vanity. This makes one’s debt problem more disastrous.
What is the way to clear the poverty and the scarcity? The best way is to ask God. Rather than stretching your hands to a man like a beggar, you can humble yourself before Father, confess your sins and ask.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you, for everyone who asks receives” (Mathew 7:7). Ask God with faith. Ask God fasting as a family. Express all your needs to God and expect the miracle to happen. Has he not promised, “If you ask anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14)!
Dear children of God, He who said “Ask and it will be given to you” has said another thing also. “Give, and it will be given to you” ( Luke 6:38). For many people, the blessings are blocked for the reason that they do not give to God and to His ministries. Giving to God is like sowing a seed. It will yield thirty, sixty and hundred folds. When you give to God, He looks to it. God did not fail to see when the poor widow put two mites for Him. Give to God even in the midst of your penury. God will definitely return it to you thousand fold.
To meditate: “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6).
