“(Bless) knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing” (1 Peter 3:9).
There are worldly blessings, Spiritual blessings, Heavenly blessings and Eternal blessings. God likes you to receive all these blessings. He wants to give all these blessings to you and also likes you to be blessed for the sake of others.
You have to try hard and struggle to inherit the blessings without being lazy and tired. Look at Jacob! He struggled and pleaded for the whole night to receive God’s blessings. He said that he will not let God go unless He blessed him. For the reason that he struggled for the whole night, he received the blessings. Thus he received a new name and Jacob became Israelite.
Without making efforts it is not possible to derive the benefits. It is wrong for one to think that no effort is necessary and God will give even if one stays aloof. You have to make efforts to receive the blessings. Do you need the riches? Bring your Tithe to the presence of God and ask in your prayer “Bless me, God. Open the windows of the heaven. Let my vessel overflow”. Whoever asks receives. Not only that. You have been called to bless others. You are placed high and called to lend to many nations.
When God created man, the first thing He did was to bless them. Every heartbeat of God insists that you should be blessed. Then God blessed them saying, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28). Bring down everything to receive this blessing. Rule and bring down all the sins, curse and satan. Condemn all the sickness and diseases and dispose of them.
Which is the greatest of all blessings? Yes. It is nothing but inheriting God who is the basis for all blessings. Then you will receive all blessings such as the joy of Salvation, divine peace, eternal life and anointment of Holy Spirit. “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
Dear children of God, ask God for the blessing. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you (Mathew 7:7). When you ask God for the blessings, ask with faith, hope and expectation. Everyone who asks receives.
To meditate: “Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:24).
