“Lord Jesus Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
In the Old Testament, all the Israelites were blessed in Abraham. In the New Testament, we the Spiritual Israelites in Christ are blessed in Christ. All the blessings and the promises which the Israelites received in Abraham were mostly belonging to the present age and to the earth. But the blessings in Christ belong to this age, the age to come, to the highest and to the eternity. Hallelujah!
The saints of the Old Testament namely Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Noah led a wealthy life. They possessed huge richness and greatness of the world (Genesis 30:27, 39:5, Proverbs 10:22). But for the Apostles and the saints of the New Testament, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the power of the Holy Spirit and the strength of the Holy Spirit were the blessings. Jesus took His disciples up to Bethany and blessed them raising His hands. As He was blessing, He was taken to the heaven. After ten days, He sent a very big blessing from there and that is the anointment of the Holy Spirit.
The Scripture says: “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). “Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear”(Acts 2:33).
The blessings you receive through the anointment of the Holy Spirit are aplenty. The love of God is poured into our heart by this anointment of the Holy Spirit. Through this anointment of the Holy Spirit peace and joy come to us (Romans 14:17). The strength of the highest is in the Holy Spirit; the heavenly power is there; God of trinity is combined in it.
Dear children of God, when you receive the Holy Spirit you receive the gifts of the Spirit also. The Scripture says: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. ….But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills” (I Corinthians 12:7-11). You will receive not only the gifts of the Spirit but also the fruits of the Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit.
To meditate: “….Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb” (Genesis 49:25).
