“Lord Jesus Christ …….. has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3).
The blessings of God can be classified into four parts. First is the worldly blessings, second comes the Spiritual blessings, thirdly the blessings of the high and finally the blessings of the eternity.
The worldly blessings happen right from the days of the Old Testament. God blessed Abraham, Isaac and Jacob immensely with the worldly blessings. “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). In that case, the worldly blessings are also there for you.
When did the Spiritual blessings commence? Yes. It began on the day of Pentecost when the anointment of the Holy Spirit was poured on the disciples who were waiting in the upper room. The power, anointment and the strength of the high are there in the Spiritual blessing. Not only that. The nine gifts of the Spirit and the nine fruits of the Spirit are also in it. When you receive the Spiritual blessings, the Holy Spirit who is the heavenly pigeon comes and dwells in you. He converts your body into a church. Staying with you, He enables you to send out the Spirit of prayer, the Spirit of application and the Spirit of pleading.
Simon Peter, was a coward until that moment, but once being filled with the Holy Spirit, he boldly preached with no fear over the Jews, Pharisees, Sadducees and the Scribes. How powerful it would have been if three thousand souls were saved through his maiden preaching!
When did the blessings of the high commence? Yes. After His death, burial and Resurrection Jesus Christ presented Himself alive for forty days to the disciples, ascended to the heaven and was seated at the right hand of Father. From there He willed to bless us with the blessings of the high. The first thing Jesus did after being seated on the right hand of Father was “…..raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:7).
Dear children of God, Jesus Christ is seated on the same throne in which Father is being seated. Along with Him, He made us also to rise and get seated with him in the high. Today you are seated on the throne along with Jesus Christ and Father. The blessing of the high which comes from there is the ruling with Christ. How great this blessing is, which makes us victorious ever!
To meditate: “He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, ….. He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:20-23).
