“The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us” (Psalm 115:12).
Who all will God bless? We read in Psalm 115:12, 13 ‘He will bless his people of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron, He will bless those who fear the Lord— small and great alike’ (Psalm 115:12, 13).
One who struggles with God in prayer and overcomes alone is an Israel. God will definitely bless those who pray earnestly. Secondly, if it is the house of Aaron, then it is doing God’s work as a family. God will definitely bless them. Thirdly, God will bless those who do good getting away from the evil in the fear of the Lord.
Once a sister said, “Some years ago, we were living in a hut. Now God has given us a two-storied building. Then we were using only a cycle but now we have bought a new car. Then we had a dog with scabies but now we have two Alsatian dogs. Thus she went on listing such blessings. While conversing with them, the fact that they have experienced many worldly blessings but have not been saved came to light.
Forgiveness, the joy of Salvation, eternal life, divine happiness, peace and satisfaction are the best blessings of the New Testament. Blessings are of four kinds. 1. Worldly blessing. 2. Spiritual Blessing. 3. Blessings of the high. 4. Eternal blessings. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
There are certain worldly blessings which our fathers and forefathers give us. At the same time, there are false blessings which satan shows. We have to identify them. If any of our forefathers had earned wealth illegally wE may inherit the curses too along with the wealth. One may possess the properties but will not get any enjoyment from them.
Similarly, satan also will bring certain false blessings. He may bring riches through the raffle tickets. Illegal ways of earning money like accepting bribes and resorting to shortcuts may be beneficial in the beginning but in the end, the peace will be lost. The necessity of running to Police Station and the court will arise thus destroying the peace.
Dear children of God, what is the greatness in the blessings of God? The Scripture says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
To meditate: “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you” (Genesis 12:2, 3).
