“How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?” (Exodus 33:16).
The blessings which come through divine grace are numerous. If God’s grace in His eyes is bestowed upon you, He shall be with you throughout your life. He will change you into a unique person amongst those in the earth.
‘Life’ is a long journey. The parents and the siblings will be near you. In the middle of the journey, some friends may join but there is only one who will be with you always to the very end of the age (Mathew 28:20). He is our Lord God.
Moses began his long journey at the age of eighty. He had to walk in the wilderness for forty years. Israelites numbering around twenty lakhs were accompanying him. He had to provide them food, dress, water and shelter every day. How can this be possible? Only through grace, these things could be done.
That is why Moses said, “For how then will it be known that your people and I have found grace in your sight, except you go with us?” You also have received the grace in His eyes so that God comes with you in this journey of the world. The God of grace is travelling with you.
Yes, dear children of God, if God comes along with you, you would never be troubled due to solitude, despair like an orphan, and anguish over abandonment. You will not be let down by any.
The feeling that God comes with you will instil boldness, self-confidence and joy in you. He comes with you majestically and gloriously as a victorious Christ who could straighten the crooked. When he comes with you, the angels, the Seraphim and the Cherubim will also come with you. The pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire will be around. To provide you with water the mountain of wise is also coming along with you. In short, it means that the whole heaven will be coming with you.
Dear children of God, when God comes to you, no evil could harm you. “May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him” (Psalm 68:1).
To meditate: “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favour with you. Remember that this nation is your people” (Exodus 33:13).
