“O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?” (Mathew 16:8)
One Pastor used to convene Convention Meetings every year. One year, he prayed to God saying, “God, I want to give food to the people who attend this year’s Convention Meeting. So help me by giving two corpulent bulls.” He did not stop praying but praised God saying “Praise be to you for giving them to me.”
The Convention Meeting commenced but the bulls did not arrive. Just three days were there for the final day of the meeting to come. The pastor was disturbed. The elders of the church came to him and said “Pastor, your faith is not correct. God has given you money and with it you can go for the purchase of the bulls. If you do not have money, then it is right to pray for it.”
On hearing this, his mind became unsteady. His faith began to wobble. The time was also very short and so he gave money to the elders and bought the bulls. All the people took part in the feast and were satisfied. The meeting concluded and that night God gave a vision to the pastor. In that vision, he was walking along a hilly place and there he saw a python lying. When the pastor had a close look at its trunk, there was a mirror like a thing and all things inside the trunk were seen in it. Through that mirror like thing, the pastor saw two bulls lying inside the trunk.
Being unable to understand what this vision denoted, he was puzzled. At that time the Holy Spirit talked to him “Son, I had ordered to send the two bulls to you as soon as I heard your prayer. But even while the bulls were on the way, you paid heed to the words of unbelief from the elders and wasted your money. Look! The devil of doubt has swallowed the bulls sent for you. You have lost your faith”.
What do many people think? Some say that in the life of faith, God will drag things to the end. Some others say “If you walk along the path of faith you will come across only sufferings and tribulations. It is a tough route. How could one fully rely on faith?” But the Scripture says “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19).
Dear children of God, The devil will threaten you and make you tired in the path of faith. Those who have faith in God will never feel tired. As you keep on praying, the hurdles will clear. The struggles will seize. When you pray, even the mountain like problems will disappear like snow.
To meditate: “it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed” (Romans 4:16).
