“I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me should not abide in darkness” (John 12:46).
One who has not met Christ and does not believe Him lives in darkness. But one who has faith finds the light which is Christ and walks in it joyfully. Jesus came to this world as the Messiah with the purpose that you should walk in the light of God. He brings those who live in the sin of darkness to the glorious light.
Those who have met the glory which is Christ cannot stay idle. Jesus told that you are the light of the world and in accordance with these words you will guide the people towards the light. “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1, 2).
Even though it is God who created the world “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2).
The light was the first thing to be created even prior to the sun, moon and the stars. This light was the one which reflected from the face of Christ. “The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it,[a] for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light” (Revelation 21:23).
When this light spreads through your mind, the darkness is eliminated. The indiscipline turns into discipline. Scarcity turns into plenty and bountiful. Darkness is always combined with the devil. He is being called as the ‘ruler of the darkness.’ The devil could not survive in you once the glory of God enters you. It will disappear just as the mist disappears under the sun rays.
In the past you were clasped in darkness. You were in the clutches of the devil. You were the aliens from the commonwealth of Israel. Paul the Apostle says “Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” (Colossians 1:12, 13)
Kingdom of Son of love is as true as the earthly kingdom. Firstly, you need to be delivered from the power of the darkness.
God sent a Moses to deliver the Israelites from the country of Egypt and to take them into Canaan. Similar to this God is sending Jesus Christ in our midst. He stays as the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. Are you within the light of Christ? Let His glory shine around you.
To meditate: “For You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord shall enlighten my darkness” (II Samuel 22:29).
