life through faith!

“The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).

If there is faith, life will definitely be there. The Scripture does not say that the just may live but firmly says that he shall live. So, the verse “The just shall live by faith” finds a place at four different instances in the Scripture (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38). Jesus Himself said, “In the world, you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). “Because I live, you will live also” (John 14:19). Yes. The just shall live.

The people of the world are concerned about the next day. They worry over how the future would be and how their children would be in the days to come. Their main problem is what to eat and what to dress. Jesus Christ said “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Mathew 6:26).

More than the food, dress and job, what is more, important for you to possess is ‘faith’; the faith that He will guide you. Repeatedly profess your faith saying ‘to make me rich He became poor. To heal my sickness he bore the stripes. He endured persecutions to turn my sorrow into joy’. “Whoever believes will not act hastily” (Isaiah 28:16). “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Mathew 6:33).

Martin Luther faced numerous problems and struggles. Those days, the Government wanted to eliminate him, so they sent soldiers in search of him, throughout the nation. Even in that atmosphere “The just shall live by faith” were the words of faith which came out from him. No soldier was able to arrest him. No king was able to judge him to death.

The widow of Zarephath had no way to survive. All she had was a handful of flour in a bin and a little oil in a jar. She sadly said “I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son. We may eat it and die.” But God brought the faith into her through Elijah. She prepared the first cake and gave it to Elijah but she found that the bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry. Even during the times of famine the flour and oil continued to be so.

Dear children of God, He is God to feed five thousand people with five loaves and two fishes. Is it not? Did He not feed Elijah every day through the Ravens? Definitely, He will create the life for you.

To meditate: “Cast your burden on the Lord and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22).
