purification by faith!

“…and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith” (Acts 15:9).

“Holy Life” is not a simple affair. The reason is that the world is being ruled by the evil spirits. The world is under the grip of the wicked one and his rule. The people of the world also have become slaves to the lusts and spread the evils in their words and deeds. The filthy movies, television programmes and such things work in the world and these things could pull one into the sin and hade as well.

Some people in the world are aware that ‘there is a life after death; we can reach the presence of God only if we lead a holy life in the world. Only such a life would save us from the hade and the sea of fire.’ But the others are running around the world and their thinking is that there is no other purpose in living in this world other than enjoying it. Our holiness can be guarded and made stern only through the faith. With faith, one could lead a holy life and complete the run successfully.

“Holiness” is a collective effort. The effort which a man and God make together is what is known as ‘Holy Effort.’ It is essential for your heart to possess the thirst and desire towards Holiness. God should hold your hands and guide you in the path of holiness and success.

For example, you may like to grow a coconut tree. The first work is to make a pit of 3 feet by 3 feet measurement. Then plant the coconut sapling along with the potting soil and fertilizer. After this water the plant frequently. All these things are your responsibilities. What does God do after this? He taps the life within the coconut seed and this makes the roots to grow and suck the water. Thus the sprouts come up and then turn into leaves. The tree begins to grow. This is what God has to do.

If you want to receive the holiness through faith, the first thing you have to do is to look up to Holy God. He is not only Holy but also the one to graciously give Holiness to others. His Name is Jehovah M’kaddesh which means ‘I am God who makes you Holy.’

From where does this Holiness start with? Look up to Christ and say with faith “It is for our sake you were beaten, broken and you shed blood. The blood of Jesus could wash you, purify you and redeem you. Then step by step, you will grow with the Holy Scripture reading, Holy assembly of the church, prayer, Holy Spirit and finally you will be made perfect in Holiness.

To meditate: “Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
