“….without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
‘Faith’ is nothing but relying on God one hundred percent. Placing full belief in God and setting apart you and your family into His hands is what is called ‘faith’. Fully believing that God will advocate for you, fight for you and will do everything for you is known as ‘faith.’ At the same time, you will have to understand through faith as to how you can lead a life that will please the Lord.
David who believed God said “I delight to do your will, O my God” (Psalm 40:8). You should have a will to please God, in everything you do. If you do not have such a wish, your life will be a waste and you will lead a Christian life for namesake.
Take a husband in a family for example. If the wish of pleasing the wife is not in him, he will get ready in the morning, go to the office, spend time with the friends and the life will be a routine one devoid of happiness. But if he has an intention to keep his wife happy, he will spend time happily with her, discuss various things with her and gift something to her liking. He will also appreciate all that she does.
Loving God and being happy with Him and God loving you and to be happy with you are magnificent experiences Only then every verse of the Scripture will be tasty and sweeter than the honey and the honeycomb for you.
God likes you to rely on Him by faith. Look! When David went to meet Goliath he did not rely on any big weapons. He did not even wear an armour while going for the fight; no sword or spear on IN hand but had placed his faith in God. God commanded him a big victory through the simple weapon like a pebble.
The faith of Jesus was the main reason for him to raise Lazarus four days after his death. Jesus lifted up His eyes, said with faith “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. And I know that you always hear me” (John 11:41, 42).
Certain things we learn by experience, certain other things from the Scripture and some more things from the faith. When we walk holding His arm, it becomes easy for us to understand in our minds what His liking is. God also will share with you about what He likes.
To meditate: “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice” (Proverbs 21:3).
