“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household” (Hebrews 11:7).
Noah had a special faith. He received the divine caution by his faith; became reverent too. Through that faith, he made the ark to save his family. He became the heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
When sin increases in the world, the people are subjected to the wrath of God. One has to be just and perfect to escape from it. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations. Noah was walking with God. The earth also was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence. All flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
“My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. And the Lord was sorry that He had made the man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart” (Genesis 6:3, 6).
We can come to know about three arcs in the Scripture. The first one is the one made for Moses by his parents with bulrushes. It had space for Moses alone. The second one is the arc made by Noah to save his family and to ensure that all the species of animals and birds on earth continues to live even after the destruction. Among people, there was space for him, his wife, their three sons and the respective daughters in law.
Even today one arc is being kept open for us. It is the one made out of Christ’s flesh and blood. When His side was pierced and torn, a new and living arc has been opened for us. It has space for not one and not eight but for every soul coming to nearer to Christ.
Today we have reached the end wherein the world is expecting the arrival of the antichrist. Very soon the seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God will be poured on the earth. In these days of mercy, God calls you with love saying “….the one who comes to me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:37). The door of the living arc is still kept open for you. God has been calling the mankind to enter the gates of Salvation and the gates of mercy. Will you be seen within the arc with faith?
Do you care over your family as Noah did? Are your children and brothers have been saved and have found a place in the arc? Will you be seen as a family during the Coming of Christ?
To meditate: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31).
