“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (I Corinthians 2:9).
We see certain things through our eyes. We hear certain things through our ears. Certain things are felt in our heart. But it is wonderful that we understand the ways of God through our faith.
The disciples did not know why Jesus was holding the feet of the disciples and wash them. They did not know that He who washed their feet with water will later wash their heart and cleanse their sins with His precious blood thus making them His own children. The ways of God are wonderful.
Further, some people raise the question why the Lord Father did not interfere and stop the death on the cross. The disciples came to know only later that the reason for Jesus to pour His life on the cross is to dwell with us with the power of Resurrection.
In several occasions, we also may raise the questions why and why? We may understand certain secrets through faith and the Holy Spirit. Paul the Apostle writes, “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except for the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God” (I Corinthians 2:10, 11).
Dear children of God, how great blessed experiences they are to possess the Holy Spirit and to be guided by the same. God has some exclusive gifts of revelation for them. The word of knowledge and the word of wisdom through the Spirit are like two spiritual eyes.
Perhaps if you had not received the gifts, rely upon God with faith. Say, “God, you are my father. You have given me the Spirit of adoption to call you Abba, Father. Though I do not know what you are doing now I hope that you will be doing only the good for me since I am your child. You will make everything beautiful in its time” and rely upon Him.
God will make everything beautiful in its time. He neither rushes ahead nor stays behind to anything. When they ran out of wine in the wedding at Kana, for a moment He waited for His time. On arrival of the time, He turned water into wine. He will definitely do a miracle for you also.
To meditate: “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God” (I Corinthians 2:12).
