“ And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him and they brought him out and set him outside the city” (Genesis 19:16).
You will not waste your time if you have the knowledge of counting your days. You will not be delaying things. You will put to force all things in time which you want to do.
The family of Lot was delaying things and was wasting as since they were not aware that the city of Sodom Gomorrah had been fixed for ruin. But a situation arose wherein the angel who knew the importance of time caught hold of their hands and pulled them out.
The sin of Sodom Gomorrah reached the heaven. The cry of the city was so intense and God willed to destroy that city completely. In such a big city there was only one righteous person. His name was Lot. God did not want to destroy him along with the wicked people and willed to make Lot and his family escape. “The angels (sent by God) urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city” (Genesis 19:15).
Dear children of God, Holy Spirit urges you as He knows the end of the world. The world we live in is set to burst and scatter in pieces. The day of judgement is fast approaching. God calls “Rise up my fair one.”
Certain workers were working on a plain to break a rock located in the downhill by bombing. But all of a sudden a mother and her child came that way and the mother was not aware of the danger she and her child were facing. But the workers knew what the situation was. So they shouted, “Take the child and run away from here.” Hearing this, the mother caught hold of the child and began to run towards safety. It was a close escape and any delay might have caused their death.
Dear children of God do not delay in getting baptised. Never make delay in reconciling with God and man. Set things right with whichever person where bitterness prevails and let not these things delay your progress. “Time and tide wait for no man” is a proverb. God neither rushes ahead nor stays behind to anything. He does everything perfectly in the most appropriate time. So do not delay.
To meditate: “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace” (Luke 19:42).
