friends of prayer!

“But woe to him who is alone, when he falls, he has no one to help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:10)

If a powerful prayer has to be made, it is essential that you should have friends of prayer. Whichever child of God has friends of prayer who would pray for him with the burden, he will be blessed. Friends of prayer who pray together in a single-minded manner are greater than the abundant wealth. Do you have friends of prayer?
I was saved in my youth stage and I was not married then. A famous advocate used to visit me at around 5 O’clock in the morning to pray together with me. I used to wash my face early in the morning and wait for his arrival. Immediately on his coming we will kneel down and pray. We will not be speaking a single word personally and straight away we will begin to pray. For one hour we will be praying, filled with the Holy Spirit.

In the evening hours, I will be visiting the residence of another friend of prayer and we will kneel down and pray in the open terrace. With another friend of prayer, I used to climb the mountain at Pallavaram and we will be praying alternatively and this was a monthly commitment. Those prayers were the times in which I gained strength and the power of the high. It also happened to be the foundation for my deeper ministry of the latter times.

So, the Bible says “Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone, when he falls, he has no one to help him up. Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10, 12).

Dear children of God, choose for you a Church or God’s Assembly where people pray well. When people assemble with oneness and pray, the prayer acquires great power. Church Service is not mere singing and preaching. A prayer carried out with burden and tears should be there. Where the believers and the pastors keep praying, the devil cannot do anything there. The divisions and confusions cannot enter there. The blessings of God will be poured there abundantly.

I have gone thrice to Paul Yonggi Cho’s Church at Korea. There the believers will raise their voice and pray before sharing of God’s Word. The volume of the sound will be like that of a deadly flood. It is easy to begin the prayer but it is pretty hard to stop their prayer. This is the reason for that Church to be the first level church in the whole world. Dear children of God, single-mindedness and fellowship of love are highly essential to pray.

To meditate: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.” (Psalm 133:1, 3).
