“Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion;” (Isaiah 52:1).
Why does God call “Awake! Awake! Oh, Zion” and show so much urgency in waking us up? Firstly, he has to wear the beautiful garments. Secondly one has to wear the power which God gives. Only then one can lead a successful Christian life. To wear this power, firstly one has to receive the Holy Spirit. Secondly, the verses of promise should be claimed as a right and should be inherited.
Thirdly, you have to make use of the Name of Jesus Christ with anointment to receive the divine power. The power is attached to the Name of God (Mark 16:17). Fourthly, there is huge power in the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. (I John 1:7). Not only that. That blood crushes the head of the jackal. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11).
Jesus Christ was always ‘wearing the garment of power’. Bible says “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” “Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion;” (Acts 10:38).
The Apostles who followed Jesus were also filled with the power. The power which had filled Peter had filled his shadow also. “o that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. And they were all healed. ” (Acts 5:15, 16).
Paul the Apostle was also filled with the power of God. The power had descended on his garment also. Bible says “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them”(Acts 19:11, 12).
The anointment of the Holy Spirit holds more power than the power which is derived through Salvation. That is why the Scripture insists Dear children of God it is not enough becoming a believer. Receive the anointment of the Holy Spirit purified heart, thirst and longing. When Paul the Apostle came to Ephesus he met the believers there and enquired them whether they received the Holy Spirit when they believed (Acts 19:2). Dear children of God this is the period of the Holy Spirit. Who asks will get the Holy Spirit. Definitely, you will rise and shine.
To meditate: “For I will pour water on him who is thirsty and floods on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your offspring” (Isaiah 44:3).
