“Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth” (Genesis 1:11).
The seeds are invisible and are within the fruits. Every seed has life in it. That life has the power to give life and grow a new tree. A believer who possesses no fruit and seed cannot gain souls.
Trees give fruits. At the same time, the trees give seeds and are also very particular in multiplying their own species of trees. The fruits are provided with beautiful colour, smell and taste and at the same time seeds are also there for the trees to multiply in thousands and fill the earth. If the trees went on providing the fruits and if there are no seeds things will come to an end at a point of time and there will not be any multiplication. Is it not?
Dear believers, who bear fruits, do you have seeds for soul winning in you? It is not enough if you secure a good name as a Christian. You need to be a Christian involved in soul harvesting. Why are the Christians stumbling between three to five percent of the population of India for the past many years? It is just because the soul harvesting has not been done at the required level.
Think of those fruits and seeds again. The tiny seed contains all the characteristics of a big tree. How amazing it is, for the leaves, flowers, fruits and other characteristics are put into such a small seed! Big trees are placed into the seeds just like a huge giant lying and sleeping within a small bottle.
Every seed has life in it. It has food in it which could last long till the plant is able to get food through its roots. The seed is covered by a shell so that the tender sprout in it is protected. With what great wisdom God has created it! : “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches” (Mathew 13:31, 32).
The seed of life which the children of God should have is the Word of God (Luke 8:11). God’s words alone are with Spirit and Life. The souls are gained when the seeds of Scripture are sown. Christ sprouts and grows in their lives newly. Dear children of God, You will also derive good results if you also sow the Scripture in your life and in your ministry.
To meditate: “But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold” (Luke 8:8).
