“Abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4).
This is God’s promise. If you want to bear more fruits, tt is highly essential for you to abide in the relationships God has created for you. God is our Father and we are His children (John 1:12). HE is our elder brother. When you dedicate yourselves to do the will of God, you become His brother and sister. (Mathew 12:49, 50).
Christ is our friend. He has made us known all He has heard from His Father (John 15:13-15). He is beloved to our soul. You can depend on Him in this world of wilderness. He is our bridegroom. He earned every one of us as His bride with His own blood. When you abide in this great distinguished relationship, you become fruitful.
Nuwara Eliya is a place in Sri Lanka and a good man was living there happily with his wife and two children. But a male servant who had gone there from India somehow established an illicit relationship with his wife. With false promises, he tempted her and brought her to India. Here, he disappeared with all her jewels. She was left high and dry.
Today she is employed as a labourer in a potato garden located at Ooty. She lamented “In Sri Lanka, my husband took utmost care of me and did not allow me to do even minor domestic works. I was like a queen there. Lusts made me lose everything. Oh, I lost my good husband and the children too” and is roaming like a mad woman.
Dear children of God, if you detach yourself from the love of Christ and His presence, you will toil in the eternal fire and lament “Alas! I lost my God and the heaven as I neglected His love.” So, whatever be the situation, never get away from God’s love and His fellowship. He is your life and future.
Jesus Christ said, “Say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God” (John 20:17). Pay your attention to this verse. Both have the same Father and both belong to the same family. How come this relationship? We received this greatness just because He is the vine plant and we are its branches.
Similarly, when you are united with Christ, His Father becomes your Father and His heaven becomes your own home. The angels there will be your servants. You will dwell with Him in the high and inherit all the blessings.
To meditate: “For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Hebrews 2:11).
