he love which draws!

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to myself” (John 12:32).

Love has the ‘power of attraction.’ Jesus Christ who is the magnet of Calvary has the power to attract the people towards Him. The ordinary magnet attracts all the tiny particles of iron and in the same way, we too are pulled nearer to Christ and the heaven
Whenever a namesake Christian comes to church, he finds fault with everyone. He will say that the choir is not singing well; the sermon of the pastor is not good at all and he initiates to preach without proper preparation. He kept on scolding the elders and other servants of God. He will always be murmuring during the church services being influenced by the spirit of irritation.

One day he became sick and was nearing the end. The fear of death was greatly upsetting him. He did not have the hope that the heaven will accept him. He was not prepared to face the eternity too. So he invited the pastor to meet him immediately. Accordingly, the pastor came and began to pray. Once the pastor began to pray, this man began to murmur that it was a fake prayer and it would not cross even the roof. But the pastor continued to pray with compassion, love of Calvary and tears too. In the midst of the prayer, the murmuring man opened his eyes and looked at the praying pastor. He saw the pastor praying with tears rolling down his cheeks. In his vision, he saw Jesus standing behind the praying pastor and watching him with compassion.

That look of Christ which had the magnetic power in it broke this man. He fully surrendered himself to God repenting for his sinfulness. When he beseeched for forgiveness, God not only forgave him but also extended his lifespan healing the sickness. The Divine Love overcame his murmuring; overcame his habit of accusing others. He began to minister as a disciple of love.

What kind of love is Christ’s? God said, “I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love” (Hosea 11:4). Yes. God’s love will transform the bad into good; the sorrow into joy. “All things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28).

God may guide you in whatever path; He may give you whichever as share, what you have to do is to accept everything with joy. Proclaim saying “My God is a God of love. He is the one to love me. Whatever He does for me, it will be for my good. Today God gives you a promise “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you” (Isaiah 43:2).

To meditate: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (II Corinthians 4:17)
