“For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11).
How high is the sky from the earth? No one could measure this. It is a never ending process. The height of God’s love indicates his grace on you. God, with His immeasurable grace, transformed the men created from the soil into people of the heaven. God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). He turned them into the people of the heaven.
Think over this. What is the height of love? He raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:7). That is the height of love. He is compassionate to permit us to walk with Him and dwell with Him in the heavenly places. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1).
Read through the Scripture portion of Romans 5:5-10. There we read that we were without strength (Verse 6), we were sinners (Verse 8) and we were enemies to God (Verse 10). Even though we were so bad, we were made to reconcile with God through the death of His Son. Just think what a great love God showed towards us. “Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5).
See! We are filthy and weak and He has promised to make us sit with Him on His Throne. Is this promise not showing the height of His love? (Revelation 3:21). God greatly exalts those who succeed in the life of the world and honours them in the eternity. He says that He has given thousands of angels like Michael and Gabriel as ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14). This shows the height of His love. Further, He has promised to give everything like a crown which never fades, a crown of glory and crown of life in the eternity.
Do you know what Jesus told when He was leaving the world? He said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). It shows the height of His love. He gave you the Holy Spirit and through that Spirit, He willed to dwell in you. That towering love of His is that He has come to dwell in you as the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)
Today, may the anointment of His love descend on you. That love does two things in you. 1. It encourages you to love God immeasurably. 2. It raises you to love your enemies and pray for those who prosecute you
To meditate: “For great is your mercy toward me and you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol” (Psalm 86:13).
