“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (I Thessalonians 5:23).
Our God is one who gives all good things richly to us. He will uphold you to the end so that you do not stumble by filling your spirit, soul and body fully with Holiness. God is the only one who gives His holiness to you. His aim is to make you Holy on earth. He wants to present you as faultless during the Coming of Christ. It is for this purpose, He has given you the Holy Spirit.
We read in Romans 15:15 ‘the offering of the Gentiles might be sanctified by the Holy Spirit.’ In this big ministry of total sanctification, you can witness a part of the Holy Spirit. He delivers the man who is a sinner from the power of sin and from the habits of iniquity. That day when Peter was preaching, everyone’s heart was rekindled by the Holy Spirit and they realised what their sins were.
What was the reason behind them saying what must we do for us to be saved? It is because the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment (John 16:8). Secondly, the Holy Spirit gives us victory over sins and sinful habits. You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you (Acts 1:8). So, convert your defeats into victories with the strength of power from the Holy Spirit. Break open all the shackles.
Thirdly, the Holy Spirit brings power in your life. He provides you with the power to carry out the ministry. He gives you the power to deliver the souls from the hands of the enemy. The power to destroy the gates of the hade and to install church is received. The power and grace of doing good to people are received. Is it not a great blessing to have Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit?
“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).
Fourthly, the Holy Spirit dwells in you and emulates in you the divine characteristics and thus fulfils you in Holiness. Dear children, who have received anointment “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (I Corinthians 3:16). Walk in the Spirit.
To meditate: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18).
