To be perfect!

“Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Colossians 1:28).

Here, Paul the apostle makes it clear what the purpose of God was in calling him to the ministry. “God’s aim is to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus”. Even today, the command given by God to all His servants is the same. Guiding a soul into Forgiveness and Salvation is not enough. He should be brought into the perfection of God. The Church should be prepared for this purpose.

Once, I was attending a church service and the Pastor of the church was delivering the message. He completed his preaching saying “Jesus is coming soon, for the sake of the saints who have been made perfect.” These words touched my heart deeply. This made me think persistently about “The Coming of God is fast approaching. Soon I should perfect the holiness in me with the fear of God.” The lifeline of the Christian life is to attain perfection in Christ. But how could this perfection be achieved?

There are thousands of divine qualities and characteristics in Christ. How could we attain perfection in each of His numerous characteristics like love, holiness, humility, mercy, prayerful life and grace? Is it possible? Can a man come into the Divine abundance?

A servant of God said, “It is impossible to make efforts to get perfected in each of characteristics of Christ. So, we should leave alone these efforts and try to fully inherit Him. Jesus Christ alone is the perfectionist. He abundantly dwells in me. All divine perfections come into me and dwell in me since He Himself fully dwells in me. Not only that. Move ahead with the faith that the Holy Spirit will guide you perfectly into all truth.” This reply of his made me rejoice.

Dear children of God, inherit Christ fully. He dwells in you with holistic graces. When you please Christ and walk with Him, even without your knowledge, Christ’s characteristics will be getting perfected within you. Unknowingly, you will keep on transforming into the image of Christ. At the time of the Coming of Christ, when the trumpet sounds, in a moment, God will perfect you and bless you with glory after glory.

To meditate: “but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (I John 3:2).
