‘”The fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air” (Genesis 9:2).
Today, God is giving you all the promises which he had given to Noah. All the creatures that move around the earth have been given unto you. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth. You need not fear over any animal. But all animals will be afraid of you.
You may raise certain fears. “I am afraid of the dogs. When I see a bull running towards me, I am afraid whether it may gore me to death.” When you are in Christ, there is no necessity for you to fear over such things. “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 1:7).
What is the secret behind David boldly opposing the lion, bear, Goliath and the Philistines? “I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4). “But the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1).
If a snake looks at you and spreads its hood that does not mean that it exhibits its courage. The spreading of its hood is its cautious move as it is afraid of being beaten. Even the dog is chasing you just because you run out of fear. If you oppose and take a stone to throw, it will begin to run in the opposite direction leaving you. You can see men have enslaved big elephants and trained them to obey their commands. They become submissive to the man and involve in hard slogging like transportation of huge trees and large logs. Big bulls pull cart for men and they are used in ploughing also.
If one is filled with the Holy Spirit, with that power he could not only cast the animals but also the evil spirits. God has given you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions. “You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot” (Psalm 91:13). Naturally, power is the authority God has given the man. When the power of the Holy Spirit combines with the authority to work, further greater things can be done for God. “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (I John 4:4).
God completely defeated satan on the Cross of Calvary crushing his head. He is the Son of God manifested to destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8). “…….through death, He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrews 2:14, 15).
To meditate: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents” (Mark 16:17, 18).
