grace! grace!

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord” (Genesis 6:8).

In the Scripture, we see several blessings being given to Noah and his family by God. Firstly, He commanded Salvation to the whole family. Secondly, he gave a fear to all the creatures over them. Thirdly, He showed unlimited grace towards Noah’s family members. God has promised that grace to you saying “……with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you” (Isaiah 54:8).

Grace is one which protects your life like a fence. Refuge and protection will be there when surrounded by grace. The ark made of gopher wood remained as the refuge for Noah. “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you“(Isaiah 54:10).

If a man does not honour God’s grace and leads life to his whims and fancies, God will deprive him of His grace. He will remove the fence of protection. Thus the way will be cleared for satan and other destructions of the world to attack him. Though Saul had been anointed as the king, God removed His grace from him for the reason that he had boycotted the Word of God. Then the evil spirit caught hold of Saul and troubled him.

When the twin towers thought to be the pride of the USA were crashed in the year 2001, many servants of God were in doubt whether God is removing the grace from that country. Now the USA is often facing natural calamities like cyclones and non-stop heavy rains but people fail to understand that these are sent by God to caution the country. Whenever such calamities struck, people should humble themselves, repent for their sins and turn from their evil ways. This will make God show mercy and He will not send the troubles which He had intended to send.

In the year 1945, during the II World War, the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were burnt by the atom bomb attack. But even in the midst of this destruction, one house remained intact without any damage. It was a great surprise for the Japanese scientists and the government. They researched over how this house remained unaffected during such a big destruction. At last, the Christian missionaries who remained safe in that house during the war told that the sole reason for their escape was the grace of God.

God showed mercy to Noah and He will show the same to you and your family too. God will be your refuge and strength. He will be a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

To meditate: “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him (Psalm 103:11).
