“that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.” (II Corinthians 1:8).
Whatever be the circumstances, do not give up. Never let the faith on God get weakened. Every time Bro. Jeevanandam used to sing a song before delivering message. “Jesus will not let me down. Jesus will not let me down. The storm may blow and the cyclone may cause troubles but my God will not let me down.” He had placed his faith firmly on God.
In the same way, God who will not let you down is holding your hand and your run could complete successfully. “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6). So, “……be strengthened with might, through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16).
On the 16th August, 1987 an aeroplane which took of crashed within a short time in America. All the 150 passengers in it died except a four year old child. How this happened? The mother of the child knelt down and embraced it covering the child fully just when she knew that the accident is going to occur. The mother dies but the child was saved.
The love God has over us is similar to this. To protect you He joyfully gave His life on the Cross of Calvary. He protected you keeping you under his wings. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (II Peter 3:9).
One young man loved God after being saved during the youth stage. But a particular sin attacked him again and again. Paul wrote that we have to fight against sin by shedding blood. This young man had no strength to fight against that particular sin.
One Pastor came to know about the young man’s problem and counselled him saying “Brother, though the stars are hanging in the sky, it is God who has fixed them there. He holds the seven stars in his right hand and He will hold you too. He will protect you also from falling.” These words rejuvenated the young man. For the past forty five years he has been shining in the Lord’s ministry. “Whoever believes will not act hastily.” (Isaiah 28:16).
To meditate: “Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, “(II Corinthians 1:9).
