“In all your ways acknowledge him and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6).
Self-confidence is essential for making non stop efforts. But you should not rely upon the self-confidence fully. The grace of God and His help are very important for us. Attach god with you in all your efforts. Jacob was alone and he was not aware of what his future was and at this situation he made a vow while leaving for his father in law Laban’s home. “And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house and of all that you give me I will surely give a tenth to you.” (Gen 28:22). Indirectly he made God also a partner in his efforts.
So, he was able to thank God after twenty years with gratitude saying “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which you have shown your servant; for I crossed over this Jordan with my staff and now I have become two companies.” (Genesis 32:10).
Effort is alone not enough. The pity, grace and kindness of God are very essential. If you possess these factors whatever you do will prosper. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. (Joshua 1:5). “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6).
On young doctor had his education in India and he carried out his medical profession in Malaysia. But there were many experienced and famous doctors in that place. They had constructed big hospitals and were at top in their category. This young man was a new, inexperienced doctor but he had strong faith and love over God. He had made God a partner in his profession. He vowed “God, fill this hospital with your glory. Whatever you give me through this hospital I will give tithe to your ministries.
So God joined him. Some of the famous doctors passed away and some more of them suffered from dreaded diseases and proceeded to London for treatment. This Christian doctor was firm and steady, He earned a lot and even today he generously contributes for the ministries.
Dear children of God, whatever may be your efforts, unite with God. Make a vow and progress. Then the eyes of God will be on your efforts and your prosperity. “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.” (Deuteronomy 28:3).
To meditate: “And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail”. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
