“No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.” (John 3:13)
Though the heaven would be filled with God’s glory and brightness of light, our hearts will be filled with gratitude when we go there and meet God face to face. We will fall on the feet of Jesus Christ and thank Him with tears of happiness. In fact, our hearts will begin to surge once we see Jesus Christ.
Out of happiness of seeing Jesus Christ, we will be breathless. You also may think about this. What will you speak to Jesus when you meet Him? Your joy could not be defined in words and you will be static.
There is a song in Tamil which goes this way. “It is enough if I am able to see the sweet, loving king Jesus and it is enough if I live in His glory’. One sentence in the middle of the song says “I will see the head with crown of thorns and I will kiss every wound in Him.” When you meet Jesus will He say “What a big sin you have committed? Your dirty life has whiplashed me. In spite of all these things I washed you with my blood.” No. He will never say these words.
He has forgiven all your sins and has thrown them deep into the sea you will be greatly rejoicing on meeting Christ but He will be much happier in seeing you. “He shall see the labour of his soul, and be satisfied. By his knowledge my righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.” (Isaiah 53:11).
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17). Christ will also be quiet with His love towards you. “Dear child, all my sufferings in Calvary are for your sake. No suffering of mine has been put to waste. I was in your thought and I chose you and detached you from the world which is filled with sins and curses. Even after I had risen to the heaven, I sat on the right side of the Lord and advocate with the Father for you.
You will feel happy and thank God when your life in this world comes to an end. In heaven there is no cry; no tears; no sorrow; no disease and no uneasiness. The life in heaven will bring only rest and rejoice.
To meditate: “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Act 7:56)
