“Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him and begged Him to touch him.” (Mark 8:22)
Jesus Christ took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” Then He put his hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. (Mark 8:23-25).
That man who was blind by birth regained his sight through two ways. The first touch of Christ enabled him to get only blurred vision and he was able to see men as tress. When Christ touched him again, he his vision became clear and he was able to meet Jesus face to face. Similarly we see Christ in mirror in a blurred manner. But then we will be meeting Him face to face. Now God reveals himself through visions and dreams. But when we go to heaven we will Christ and His glory directly face to face.
Think over this. Both the men of flesh as well as spirit are in us. Some Godly people say that black dog is there and the white dog is also there within us. The flesh and the spirit fight with each other. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Every man has his own worldly lusts inside and at the same time the Godly presence provided by the Holy Spirit is also inside. Within us is the man of spirit as well as man of flesh.
In Romans chapter 7, Paul writes about the struggle between flesh – the sinful man and the Holy Spirit in his life. ” But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Romans 7:23).
What is the end for this? We should not waste this life by living fully with the worldly lusts. Paul the apostle writes: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
You have received the anointment of the Holy Spirit and when you walk with the Holy Spirit you will vision Him and meet Him face to face. “As for me, I will see your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness.” (Psalm 17:14-15)
To meditate: “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (I Corinthians 6:17).
