“… and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” (Romans 4:21)
Abraham became powerful in faith. He was known as the ‘father of faith’. He became the pioneer to the descendants of the believers. He was not weak in his faith (Romans 4:19). The body of Abraham became weak due to old age. Since he was hundred years old his body was weak and was not fit enough to create a new posterity. Twenty five years had gone by since God had promised to offer posterity to Abraham. But even then his faith did not get weakened.
Generally other people will get discouraged and disheartened during such situations. The level of faith in them will get trembled. But what was the secret behind Abraham to be so strong in his faith even at situations? He became powerful in faith by glorifying God (Romans 4:20). He kept on glorifying God and this made him proliferate further and further.
“God, I believe you and your words. Was not the universe created through your words? Even at this time of my body becoming rotten due to old age, you are going to give me the blessing of giving birth to a heir. I glorify you. I glorify you by believing that you have strengthened me for the purpose.” He would have praised God with all these words.
Since he was always glorifying God powerful faith came into him. He pleased God. Not only that. He received Isaac as per the promise of God. Dear children of God, if you keep on looking at your problems, the disbelief increase in you. If you keep on thinking about the disease of yours, it will not cure but increase. If you keep on thinking about your sorrows and sufferings you will glorify only satan.
You have been called to walk on the ocean. You are not the people to walk on the water but you are the people called to walk on your faith. Peter did not walk on water. He walked on the promise of God when He called ‘come’. Dear children of God do not turn your eyes to see the waves of the sea. Let your eyes see Christ who brought the stormy sea under His feet. Glorify Him and get strengthened in your faith.
When you confess the God given promises you will grow in your faith and become strong. “who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;” (Romans 4:17). So, dear children of God never be weakened in your faith. Get strengthened in Christ. Get strengthened in his power. Not only that, Be powerful in the faith. You have to do great things for God. Is it not?
To meditate: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
