“….knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” (James 1:3).
You should not think that tests and exams will be there only in schools and colleges. There is test for you in your spiritual life too. That is the test of faith. Your faith will be strengthened in proportion to the tests of faith you successfully overcome. You will also become a strong and staunch believer.
The faith of Abraham was tested. He became a strong man of faith. The faith of Job was tested. He received doubled blessings. But the believers of today do not prefer to undergo the tests of faith. They restrict themselves with consumption of scripture alone. What was David’s testimony? “Your words were found, and I ate them and your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by your name, O Lord God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15:16).
Eat the words. But implementing them is more important. Is it not? If a man eat lot of food and stay without doing any exercises, then in due course of time his body will bloat and become useless. Similarly if your faith is not subjected to sufficient exercises its muscles will get weakened.
Most of the Churches in Tamil Nadu do not preach to implement faith. The only duty of the believers is to keep on hearing to messages. If spicy food is consumed heavily the indigestion that results creates some sort of sluggish feeling. This is how some believers of today are. They simply sit, hear the messages and give rating to the preachers.
Though God has given thousands of promises, people do not make use of them. Due to this attitude they look defeated in life. Hence they are not aware of how to overcome satan during the times of tribulations. They do not know how to pronounce the words of faith when they face problems.
Dear children of God, if you do not practise faith, the faith within you will get rusty and become useless. Bring faith into force. Speak the verses of the Bible. Get hold of the promises. Move ahead with the faith.
In the North East direction of India, there are states like Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. In the year 1896, many missionaries approached the people of these states with faith and love of Calvary. When seeds of faith were sown into them, they began to practise faith in their life. That is why these states which were previously immersed in darkness have become bright. Today, 98% of the population in Nagaland are our believers. In the whole of India, the Christian population stays at the top in this state. Is it not a victory for the faith?
To meditate: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23).
