wisdom which protects the home!

“Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out her seven pillars” (Proverbs 9:1).

There are sixty six books in the Bible. Among those books some are the history of certain intellectuals and Psalms which sweetly praise god are also there in it. The Bible contains the miracles done by Jesus Christ and also His preaching. It is appropriate to call the whole Bible as the Book of Wisdom. But the Proverbs and Ecclesiastes written by Solomon reveal both the worldly and spiritual wisdom.

The word ‘wisdom’ finds place in the Bible nearly 222 times. You can live a successful life in this world if you possess wisdom. You can also inherit the heavenly kingdom through wisdom. People of the world gain knowledge through experiences, counselling and books but our Heavenly Father provides you special wisdom through the Scripture.

“Wisdom has built her house.” (Proverbs 9:1). “Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established;” (Proverbs 24:3). Love, fellowship and integrity are very much required for a building up a family life. For that one has to be filled with heavenly wisdom. Whatever you speak or do, you should do it with utmost care. Bitterness and sorrow creep into many families when its members lack wisdom and eventually the families are broken.

Secondly he says “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” (Proverbs 14:1). Thirdly if you want to build your house, God himself has to build it for you. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” (Psalm 127:1).

The husband and wife have to build their family with wisdom and truthfulness. ‘Wisdom’ is the other name of God. “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (I Corinthians 1:30). “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33).

Many women doubt their husbands unnecessarily and have been the cause for their families to get broken. They initiate to sow the seed of bitterness between the husband and the mother in law and resultantly experience sadness and sorrow. In some cases husbands also behave without wisdom, quarrel and fight with their wives and wreck the families.

Dear children of God, wisdom, knowledge and discretion are essential for you to build your family. If you possess these factors, God’s presence, satisfaction and joy will prevail in your home.

To meditate: “Behold, my Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.” (Isaiah 52:13).
