“Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart” (Proverbs 4:21).
You should have faithful eyes and a faithful heart. Your eyes and the heart should look up at the Lord. Solomon says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Pro 3:5-6).
Prior to every travel my father used to pray with this promise “God, direct my paths”. Only after pleading to God with these words he will undertake any travel. In the same way only after this prayer he will allow us also to go for a travel. As prayed, God will protect us from all evils. How strong the wings of God are!
A brave person involved in the sport of jumping from the parachute went to the top of a hill to have a go. His friend was very afraid and told “How dangerous it is! Even if you commit a minor error it will end in loss of life. Are you not afraid of jumping from such a great height?” The brave man said that the wind will come and protect him. He said that every time he jumps, the wind comes and helps the parachute to expand. As his friend was looking on the man jumped from the hill and the wind correctly expanded the parachute in time and he flew beautifully with the help of the wind. His friend was astonished.
If one keeps his faith on God rather than on the wind he will understand how miraculously God will carry him on His wings. Dear children of God, let your eyes be on God always. Remember Him in all your ways. The angels will carry you lest you dash your foot against a stone.
“As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the LORD alone led him and there was no foreign god with him.” (Deuteronomy 32:11-12).
If your eyes and heart be firmly fixed on the Lord and on the promises He has given with love, you will remain unshakeable like Mount Zion. No storm or turbulence could harm you. Keep your faith on the Lord and catch hold of the verses of promise during every situation of danger. He will definitely order peace commanding the sea, wind and storm.
To meditate: “For they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:22).
