in the midst of the heart!

“Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart” (Proverbs 4:21)

Once, a smaller king was defeated when he rose against an Emperor. The emperor told the smaller king that he would like to forgive him but on one condition. The condition was that the defeated person will be given a vessel full of water and he will have to walk carrying that vessel on his hands without dropping even one drop and hand over the vessel to the emperor who will be standing two mile away. The smaller king accepted the condition.

The man was given the vessel full of water. He held it strongly with both of his hands with fear and shivering. The water inside the vessel did not look like water to his eyes but it looked like his life itself. When he began to walk with the vessel, two gigantic men followed him with swords raised in their hands. They told that they will slaughter the man even if one drop is spilled. On the way, two groups of people were made to stand with one group to encourage the man walking with water and the other group to make fun of him.

But the man fully concentrated on the vessel and walked with mental stubbornness. His only aim was to complete the assignment without giving importance to the encouragement and discouragement as well. At last he completed the distance of two miles successfully and earned his freedom giving the vessel to the emperor.

Dear children of God you need to safeguard your soul blameless and hand over the same to the Lord after completing the run successfully. The Lord will be standing in the end of your run gloriously. He will pat on your back and say ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Then you will be crowned with crown of life, crown of righteousness and crown of glory.

Many people will lament at the time of nearing death saying “Oh, I did not safeguard my heart, I did not become righteous. All my secret sins and secret contacts have distanced me from the Lord. I have committed so many treacheries against God and I do not know which is going to be my everlasting destiny” and die.

Dear children of God, the Salvation from God is not an ordinary one. The Son of God renounced the heaven and redeemed your soul undergoing all the sufferings on the Cross of Calvary. So safeguard your heart with all protections.

To meditate: “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (II Thessalonians 3:3).
