“But He knows the way that I take” (Job 23:10).
The path of Job was the one which many could not understand. His wife abused him and let him down. His friends added insult to injury in the disguise of advising him. Even in the midst of his sufferings, Job said “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Dear children of God, He clearly knows your path of sorrows and sadness.
In Exodus 3:7, God says “I know their sorrows.” Since you have inherited Him and thus become His people, He very well knows every suffering of yours. He will redeem you from the slavery of suffering just as He saved the children of Israel from the slavery of Egypt.
David also says about this “I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the daylong” (Psalm 38:6). God knew all the afflictions of David and prepared a table in the presence of his enemies and anointed him with oil and strengthened him.
George Washington who was one of the founding fathers of the United States of America was once caught in some domestic war and was chased by the enemies. The enemies followed him with horses and guns. On the way George Washington had to stop running as a river blocked the path. It was a winter and the entire river had been frozen and anyone crossing it at that stage did not have any other option than dying.
George Washington kneeled on the bank of the river and prayed “Lord, you know that my enemies are chasing me. Now I am going to jump into this frozen river with the hope that you will save me. Please save my life so that I could protect this country from evil forces.” Saying this he jumped into the river and began to swim with all his strength. Since he was filled with the power of God, the chillness did not trouble him in anyway. He swam across, reached the other side and continued to run.
A little later the enemies reached the river but no one had the courage to swim in the frozen water. God who saw the precarious situation of George Washington and helped him will help you also in such situations and make you victorious.
Today God says with love “daughter, I will change the situation to good. I am very much alive to clear your sorrows” and comforts you. He knows every path of yours and He will guide you to the path blessings. He will bore and carry you.
To meditate: “But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him” (I Corinthians 8:3)
