“Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14:17).
Recently I visited a small shop where there was a big board in which it was written “Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.” On seeing this writing my heart was delighted. Yes, God will definitely give you prosperous periods.
My family was experiencing many untoward expenses and was badly in need of money though both of us were holding good posts in the Government. We were very sad and to find a remedy we had arranged fasting prayer in our home. God’s servant who led us in prayer in the meeting blessed both me nad my wife and said that God will definitely give us prosperous times.
As he said these words my heart was filled with faith like a river. That very day I felt that all our scarcities had gone away from us. Accordingly God blessed both of us from that day. Davis also praises God saying “My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me (Psalm 31:15). Just think about how lot he had been blessed with prosperous periods.
He was a mere shepherd but God brought in a huge transformation in his life and provided him big palaces, servants and high positioned officials too. Yes, our God who lifts a downtrodden person to great heights and gives him prosperous years has promised to give you also periods of prosperity.
The Lord commanded great prosperity to Egypt for seven years. Even before doing that God sent a sign to Joseph,. He saw seven heads came up on one stalk, full and good. He saw seven cows too. It was a holistic prosperity. Dear children of God, our Lord says “That you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days” (Deuteronomy 30:20).
Dear children of God, are you worrying about many issues? Are you lamenting how long to live in this poor conditions? Do you say that all you get is life of bitterness? Do not worry. There is a fertile Elim after every bitter Marah. Twelve fountains and seventy date trees are awaiting you there.
To meditate: Jesus said to her, “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished” (Proverbs 28:20).
