“….. Our God turned the curse into a blessing” (Nehemiah 13:2).
“curse” is an evil power. We see many powers in the nature. When tsunami, earth quake, lightning and thunder attack we understand that the nature has become too rude. Similarly when one is affected by curses, they bring untimely deaths, incurable diseases and unbearable debt issues. People scream “Alas, who will save me from this curse?”.
Apostle Paul said “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” (Galatians 3:13). “Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you” (Deuteronomy 23:5).
One rich person was called as ‘Diamond merchant’ by the people in Chennai. But do you know what his true profession was? He used to smuggle tiny children from Chennai to Malaysia and sell them as slaves to the rubber garden owners. With the money received in this dirty trade, he will buy costly pearls and diamonds and sell them in Chennai with high profit.
How lot the parents of those children might have cried? What lot of troubles those children might have experienced in working as slaves in those rubber gardens? One day that rich man died under mysterious conditions. Two children of his became mentally retarded. His wife ran away from the family. All the properties earned were lost in no time. What is the reason for such an end to that family? The reason is nothing but curse. I know a magician. Out of jealous he used to bring hardships to families through evil spirits. Later his eight children died one after the other. In the end he too died vomiting blood. Is it not curse?
Many parents when they search life partners to their sons, concentrate more on how much dowry could be demanded and how lot jewels could be asked for without giving importance to ensure that the other family is not surrounded by curses. Living a life based on self-desires, alcohol and adultery persecute the families greatly. Do you know what the Jews said before Jesus Christ was crucified? They said “His blood be on us and on our children.” Dear children of God, come nearer to the cross today as a family. The blood coming because of the crown of thorns will break all the curses and bring blessings.
“And there shall be no more curses, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him (Rev. 22:3).
