LAMB AND THE COVENANT!

“As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. (Zechariah 9:11)

Christ gave himself as a lamb for slaughter and made a covenant with His blood. In the Scripture He says in four situations as ‘my blood of the new covenant’ (Mathew 26:28, Mark 14:24, Luke 22;20 and I Corinthians 11:25).

Though Jesus Christ is seated on the right hand side of the Father, He has said the following in remembrance of the covenant made: “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood” (Revelation 19:13). “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). “A Lamb as though it had been slain” (Revelation 5:6).

Jesus Christ is remembering the covenant made with us and shows His blood stained hands to Father and keeps on pleading to Him “I have shed my blood for the sake of my children. All the curses and the sorceries surrounding them should be cleared. They should be protected.”
When you come nearer to the Cross of Calvary and make a covenant with blood, He will cleanse you and washing all your sins. As far as the East is from the West, so far has He will remove the transgressions. Not only that. He says “And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against me; therefore I did not let you touch her” (Genesis 20:6).

The word ‘covenant’ appears in Genesis 6:8 for the first time in the Bible. God made a covenant with Noah before waters of the flood. After this too he made covenants (Genesis 9:10-17). Again He remembers the covenant while saying “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.” (Genesis 6:14). ‘Covering with pitch’ indicates applying of the blood of Jesus and ‘inside and outside’ means our inward and outward life.

The first thing Noah did prior to waters of the flood was “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.” (Genesis 8:20). An altar is a sign for the Cross of Calvary. By sacrificing the cattle Lord made an agreement with Noah and set His rainbow in the cloud.

Dear children of God, when satan throws the blood of Jesus like a bomb of fire all the powers of darkness will get away from you. All the hurdles which spoil the fellowship of the family will break away. Jesus Christ who won over the world and satan will give you victory after victory remembering the covenant of blood.

To meditate: “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; (Deuteronomy 7:9)
