“But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments” (Exodus 20:6)
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Rev 1:3). The Bible assures you a blessed life. God revealed this secret to Joshua. He said “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8).
D. L. Moody once said “If you carry the Bible in your youth days, the Bible will carry you in your old age. The Bible keeps you away from the sins. If you do not follow the Scripture, the sins will keep you away from the Bible”. Billy Graham who had shaken the world with his ministry looked back at his experiences and said “The Lord helped me to have a blessed life in this world and the Bible is the reason for that”. He is the one who had deeply analyzed the Bible. He has created more than four thousand messages from the Bible. Today he has revealed the secret of his blessed life to the younger generation.
Analyze the Bible. It will turn you into not only blessed but also into a person of noble character. “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so” (Acts 17:11). Dear children of God, is it not necessary for you also to get certified as ‘noble personality’. Read and meditate the Gospel every day.
Another great blessing you achieve by reading the Scripture is receiving a fruit yielding life. King David says “But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:2, 3).
What are the other blessings of the scripture? “The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130). “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7). “Whoever walks the road, although a fool shall not go astray: (Isaiah 35:8).
To meditate: – “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (John 5:24).
