word of god – the sword of SPIRIT!

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).

In the war field, the soldiers will make use of two types of weapons. They will use the helmet, the armour and shoes as protective weapons. They will use the bow, spear and the sword to attack. The Scripture is the sword given by the Lord for us to fight with.

When Jesus was fasting for forty days in the wilderness, Satan came to test Him. He brought the tests one by one. But Jesus pulled His sword to answer. Using the term “It has been written” He fought satan with the Scripture. Satan was unable to withstand the onslaught and ran away.

Dear children of God, k now the tricks of satan and to resist, speak the verses of promises with faith. He will definitely be defeated and will run away. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).

Why does God say that the Word of God is a two–edged sword? The reason is that it cuts both in the front and in the back. It will fight with those in front and at the same time will fight with unworthy persons using it.

Fill yourself with the Scripture to become victorious. “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed, according to your word. Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you (Psalm 119:9, 11). Firstly make it known to you what the promises are, given by the Lord to oppose satan, to heal and to turn the curses into blessing? All your problems will be solved when you oppose satan catching hold of the verses of promises as and when needed. You will become victorious.

Sometimes you will have to fight with the sorcerers, magicians and evil forces. In all circumstances, to fight with satan, keep on proclaiming with faith the verses which are the spiritual sword. Then you will achieve triumph after triumph.

Jesus Christ was depending on the scripture alone in all circumstances. So His wisdom was greater than that of the scribes, Sadducees and the Pharisees. Dear children of God, may the Lord fill you with promises and power which no man could withstand.

To meditate: – “To bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron” (Psalm 149:8).
