“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3).
Generally we take birth from our mothers’ womb and join the worldly family. This is our first birth. The Christian life begins only when you take birth again. Then our birth is in the heaven. The third birth is the one from water. When you get immerses and get baptised, the doors of the heaven are opened. When Jesus was baptised the doors of the heaven were opened. God said “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”.
The fourth birth denotes the birth in Holy Spirit and Fire. Not only that but you have to be led by the Spirit. Jesus said “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).
Fifthly one has to take birth in Church. He has to take part in the assemblies and have fellowship with Godly people. The Church and the pastors become the mothers. “But the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all” (Galatians 4:26).
According to Psalms 87:5, the sixth birth is birth in Zion. All who have born in Zion are chosen people for doing God’s ministry and they have been named after God.
The seventh birth is the birth from the scripture. Examine yourself whether you are leading a righteous life pleasing God and whether your life is free of blemish. In Christian life will become holistic through these seven births. At that stage God will say “Dear child, all that I have is yours and I am yours”.
Hindus used to talk about the seven rebirths. According to them, man has to take several births in this world. He reaches god after taking births of dog, wolf, cat, worm etc. They also believe that whoever lives a life of reverence to God will go to heaven and others to hell. That is why the Hindu elders always advice others not to injure any animal and their faith is that such acts will make the offender to take the birth of the respective animal.
But we never believe such things. Our Bible very clearly says “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment”. So dear children of God, you need to be the children of the promises when you live in this world, which in turn provide you God’s inheritance.
To meditate: – “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5).
