“But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me.” (Psalm 40:17).

God has not forgotten you. He is always in thought of you. Being in thought of one is a thing which continuously goes on. How could your creator forget you? How will He let you down after gifting His image to you? He came in search of you, gave His life for your sake and thus He is always in thought of you.

On one side David thinks of himself. He recollects his humble role of a shepherd. On the other side he thinks of the King of Glory who is always in thought of him. His heart is filled with ecstasy, when he realises that the creator of the universe is always in remembrance of him.

Two hearts unite at the time of wedding. At times after some days they have to live separately due to their different places of employment. In that period the couple is always in thought of each other. Often they converse with their mobile phones. They exchange their photos and with them their love too.

Similarly the mothers who depart to foreign countries leaving their tiny tots at home stay in their thoughts always. Their thought is always over what the children might have eaten, whether they sleep well and so on. In the same way God came to the world in search of His children being unable to stay without them. It is because of His love over mankind He shouldered the Cross. He pleaded to God to forgive our sins. That was the mind of Jesus Christ.

Even after taken into heaven after Resurrection, He is constantly in thought of us and continues to plead for us to God. He is eager to face us face to face and that is why He has promised to come again soon. “But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me” Isaiah 49:14, 16).

“Remember these, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I have formed you, you are my servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by me!” (Isaiah 44:21). Dear children of God, do you love Him? Is your mind filled with His thoughts? Is your mind filled with eagerness to pray, longing to see His face and wish to have fellowship with Him?

To Meditate: – “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:11).
